The corrugated outer shell increases the surface heat dissipation area, and the hemming and riveting process forms a sandwich structure that effectively insulates heat up to 1260°C. They are used to block heat transfer from heat sources such as automotive exhaust manifolds, sensors, turbochargers, and exhaust mufflers, to effectively control the temperature around heat sources, and to protect surrounding electrical equipment from damage.
